Hi everyone! Today I'm going to explain you how to do a pleated skirt.
Materials you will need:
Hola! Hoy voy a explicaros los pasos para coser una falda plisada
Materiales que necesitaréis:

Fabric Tela
A sewing machine Una máquina de coser
A Zipper Cremallera
Threads Hilos
Pins Alfileres

1º Pick a fabric which lenght is twice or more the size of your hips. You will have something like this:
(The fabric must be a thick or medium thick one)
1º Coge una tela de la cual la largura sea el doble o más de la medida de tu cintura. Tendrás algo así:
(La tela debe ser generalmente "dura" o "semi dura")

Largura: 150 cm o más
Altura: Sobre los 40 cm o más

Before doing anything, fold and sew the sides of the fabric to prevent them from fraying

Cut a long stripe to be the waistband, 10 cm, do not sew it yet. Put the waistband apart.

Antes de hacer cualquier cosa, meter un dobladillo a todos los lados de la tela, esto prevendrá que se deshilache.

Cortamos una tira para hacer la pretina de 10 cm, no lo cosemos aún. Pon la pretina aparte.

Pretina: 10 cm de alto
Altura de la falda: 40 cm (depende de lo larga que se quiera)

Hacemos los pliegues de la falda, ten en cuenta que todos los pliegues deben de ser de igual medida

Asegura los pliegues con alfileres
Ahora la largura es la mitad de la largura que teníamos antes (sobre 70 cm)

Cose la línea de los alfileres, ten cuidado

Now, we will add the waistband to our pleated fabric, it was 10 cm high, we will fold it so we will have two sides of 5 cm (do not cut it, just fold it)

Ahora añadiremos la pretina a nuestra tela plisada, la pretina era 10 cm de alta, la vamos a doblar, así que nos quedarán dos lados de 5 cm de altura (No lo cortéis, solamente dobladlo)

Doblar la pretina por la mitad por la marca verde

We have to put the waistband as a sandwich, between it will be the top of our skirt.

Colocaremos ahora la pretina como un sandwich, dentro de ella estará el principio de la falda.

Cosemos la cinturilla a la falda
La pretina debe de ser del mismo color que la tela
5 cm de la pretina estarán delante de la falda y los otros 5cm estarán entre nuestra falda y nuestra piel, por eso hemos doblado la pretina

That is how my waistband turned, it was very difficult because of the squares, the pleats start where the waistband ends, and the waistband is twice sewn at the end and once sewn at the top (blue thread).

This was the most difficult step, I had some help from my grandma xD

Así es como quedó mi pretina, fue bastante difícil por los cuadrados. Los pliegues empiezan donde la pretina acaba, la pretina está cosida dos veces al final (donde empiezan los pliegues), y una vez al principio, por seguridad. Necesité algo de ayuda de mi abuela xD
